A look at the taxation of Investment Bonds including a detailed look at top slicing relief with examples of calculations for onshore and offshore investment bonds. The episode also touches on how investment bonds can add value for different investors.

Episode 2 – An in-depth view of the relevant property regime part 1

A detailed look at the relevant property regime. We consider entry, exit and periodic or ten year charges with examples and templates.

Episode 3 – An in-depth view of the relevant property regime part 2

A detailed look at the relevant property regime part 2. We consider the effects of grossing up and the settlement of additional property before looking at the calculations of periodic charges for loan trusts and discounted gift trusts. Planning opportunities are explored to enable the periodic charges to be kept to a minimum level. Finally, we use examples to detail why the order of gifts is an important consideration for planning with trusts.
