Annual reporting to the CPC on life insurance policies

Following the entry into force of new Belgian Legislation in 2020, Utmost PanEurope dac (the “Insurer”) must report to the Central Point of Contact of the National Bank of Belgium (the “CPC”) on the existence of the life insurance policy held by Belgian resident policyholders.

Initially, this legislation required the Insurer to report to the CPC the following details relating to your policy: 

  • the existence of the life insurance policy  with the Insurer and the start date of inception; 
  • your identity by reference in the first instance to your name and national identity number (or in the absence of same, your name, date of birth, place and country of birth);
  • when applicable, the ending of the contractual relationship and the end date

We hereby want to inform you that this legislation has been amended by the Law of 20 December 2020 and the Royal Decree of 6 June 2021and now requires the Insurer to report on an annual basis the aggregate amounts of any life insurance policy/ies we hold. 

The first such report is due by 31 January 2022 in respect of policy value as at 31 December 2020. The next report is due by 31 March 2022 in respect of policy value as at 31 December 2021. For subsequent years, policy value as at 31 December will be reported by 31 March of the following year.
